I have been keeping data and photographing the fall warbler migration on the west coast of Florida. A wide variety of color and plumage for this species can be seen in 2500 Yellow Warblers photographed. Although the dominant color is a yellow dorsal and yellow chest (most likely representing the aestivia subspecies), green, dark green, olive and brown birds have been recorded. Yellow, green and brown birds may represent the subspecies aestiva, aminicola and rubiginosa which have been recorded in Florida by collected specimens. Dark green birds may represent the subspecies parkesi, an undocumented or reported Florida bird.
Below are some examples of the variety of plumage and their probable subspecies noted.
